Portchester Equity Limited is a privately owned holding company that owns companies in long term partnership with management.

Our foundations have been built upon over many generations, going back to 1539 when the Thistlethwayte family first acquired the Southwick Estate. In 2007 the family began investing in operating companies as part of its strategy of asset diversification. In 2010 Portchester was set as a holding company for these investments in private UK companies.  Since then, the portfolio has evolved through further acquisitions and divestments and most notably the integration of Portchester with the development of Welborne Garden Village a new community located between the South Downs National Park and the coast of Hampshire.

Our current portfolio can be categorised into four sectors:

  • Multi-industrial manufacturing
  • Renewable energy and power solutions
  • Welborne – a new community
  • Construction and design

Further details on the businesses we operate within these sectors can be found here

We are actively seeking further acquisitions to compliment our current offering but are also interested in further diversification should the right opportunity arise.

Our approach here at Portchester Equity is to work with our management teams to identify a clear strategy, ensure the business has the capability and means to execute that strategy successfully and overcome any challenges they may face.

Our experienced team have decades of experience within multiple industries, supporting strategic growth, operationally leading and as investors.
